My review:
This book is a classic romantic suspense - the characters bring life experience, drama and emotion to each situation as they grapple with relationships, deception and growing and changing needs. By coming back to his small hometown, superstar Heston Demming is trying to find peace and forgiveness, and of course finds new issues, drama and pain to confront instead... his journey to the opening of the book hasn't been an easy one and his journey through the book doesn't get any easier. Along the way he tries to balance an ex-wife, son he abandoned, young daughter with his current wife, that current wife, as well as two former lovers - his high school sweetheart and 'the one that got away regularly' from a torrid romance.
This is a great Summer Read- it balances the suspense with some laughter, romance and new beginnings in a world of intrigue, money and betrayal. The author, Tina Murray, is able to convey both the real emotions and the sexual tension felt by various characters in the book, as well as the lengths to which some characters will go to make the protagonist unhappy and unappreciated. If you like a romance with twists, turns and surprises than this book is for you!
