BPC Review and Giveaway - Exergen Temporal Thermometer

The Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer is a gift that keeps on giving!  Having used it on the whole family, I love that you can take a person's temperature quickly, effectively and painlessly - even while they're sleeping!

With Liam, the only reliable way to get his temperature was rectally - he wouldn't put a thermometer in his mouth, keep it under his armpit or wear one of those thermometer bugs, so it would take both Wayne and I to hold him down to get his temp accurately - but since I was sent the Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer - life is so much easier!  I take his temp while he sleeps, by just running the thermometer across his forehead and it accurately reads it and lets me know what my next steps should be!

And I'm not the only person who thinks so... a Forbes.com article in July ranked the Exergen Temporal Artery thermometer as the best selling thermometer out there!

It's completely non-invasive, safe to share because it doesn't involve putting it into a body cavity where germs are likely to be, and it's accurate!  Our pediatrician's office has the professional grade version and if it's accurate enough for them, I'd say it's accurate enough for me!

The Exergen TemporalScanner infrared thermometer, which reads a temperature in just two seconds, is available at Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Costco, Babies R Us, Toys R Us and Sam’s Clubs nationwide. It gives parents a comforting option for taking a temperature. Gentle as a healing hand against a child’s face, the ExergenTemporalScanner gauges body temperature in two seconds by capturing the naturally emitted heat from skin over the temporal artery, which runs across the forehead and is directly connected to the heart via the carotid artery.
“Research proves that this is amongst the most accurate way to test for fever in all ages"

I learned that Multiple temperatures taken over the same area in rapid succession will ultimately cool the area causing differences. Good information to know!

I learned that multiple temperatures taken close together will cool the area down resulting in an inaccurate reading.

The thing that really sticks to me is that this wonderful thermometer takes your
temperature so fast ( 2 sec) and it is so easy. That's all I need to know. I'm sold.

Arterial temperature is the same temperature as the blood flowing from the heart. It is the best determinate of body temperature.
