I feel completely discombobulated this week... not at all balanced...
Monday was a 'snow day' for my kids because of freezing rain and ice... I still haven't gotten used to the idea that I live in a place with no real de-icing/salting/sanding equipment - they closed more than 1/2 of the major bridges for at least half a day on Monday .. for a girl who grew up in Canada it doesn't compute... but it probably saves lives, so I go with it.
Tuesday, the schools were on 3 hour delay because of the same ice possibilities... since Liam only goes for 1/2 a day, this meant no school for him at all... and Robyn didn't go in until almost noon! On top of that, I woke up sick as a dog, and it was Wayne's first day of classes for the semester.. all in all, a truly yucky day.
Wednesday, I was still sick, but the roads were clear - so it was up and at em... got the kids dropped off and came home to try to rest... Erik wanted my undivided attention, so no real rest... then the phone call... Liam was lethargic and tired at school... so back onto the island to get him...
A quick phone call to Wayne saved the day... we drove downtown and picked him and he and Erik bonded so that Liam and I could sleep the afternoon away...
I felt a little better yesterday, but both kids were off for a Teacher furlough day - and are off today to... so my house is a disaster.. i'm still recovering and this never-stay-at-home mom has been cooped up all week...
hoping for better next week, although the kids are home Monday too... it's MLK day.
