When I was young and in elementary school, getting ready for Valentines Day meant going to the local store, choosing the box of paper fold over cards that suited my mood and sorting through the corny saying so that neither the boy I really liked, no any of the boys I couldn't stand got the wrong (or right) idea... so all the Bee Mine Valentines were exchanged with girls and the boys got the You're a cool cucumber ones...
As I got older, Valentines Day morphed into something to celebrate with one other person... or if I wasn't in a relationship, I usually celebrated what my sister routinely (and in complete jest) called "Throw Yourself Under a Bus" day, mourning the fact that we weren't in a relationship and celebrating it at the same time.
Now, with over 12 years of marriage, I still like to celebrate with hubby, but honestly with the new baby and not having a reliable (read free of charge) babysitter living close, we'll likely celebrate by trying to get the kids into bed on time and falling into bed ourselves.
