DVD Review and #Giveaway: Max and Ruby: Rainy Day Play

Jon Max and Ruby for a rainy day adventure in the all-new DVD, Max and Ruby: Rainy Day Play!  Created by Nickelodeon Home Entertainment and distributed by Paramount Home Entertainment, Max and Ruby: Rainy Day Play! will be released on April 12, 2011, and sold for the suggested retail price of $16.99 ($12.99 on Amazon). 

Nickelodeon’s Max and Ruby is a top-rated animated series based on the children's books by Rosemary Wells. Each episode centers on bunny siblings Max, a determined three-year-old and his big sister, Ruby, a smart, goal-oriented seven-year-old.  The show offers an empowering message for children by showing Max and Ruby playing together and resolving their differences in ways that are respectfuland supportive.

With 4 episodes and 3 stories per episode, you can watch Max and Ruby play for hours!  

My Review: I have to say that I'm still perplexed about where Max and Ruby's parents are in all of this, but I have to admit that Max makes me smile and I love that the stories are just the right length for Liam's attention span.  He's a big fan of Max and his hi-jinks, and by having the show on DVD, we can stop and start it anywhere!  Max and Ruby are great for in the car too, since you can play it in 10 minute spurts!  Rainy Day Play has lots of mud, adventures and fun!

My favorite episode is Bunny Cakes:

Ruby wants to surprise Grandma with an angel cake with raspberry fluff icing for her birthday.  However, Max wants to make Grandma an earthworm cake with red-hot marshmallow squirters.  After a few mishaps in the kitchen and a few trips to the grocery store, Grandma gets both!
