I am pleased to be reviewing a preview copy of Batman: The Brave and the Bold - Season One, Part Two for Warner Brothers Entertainment. And, they've got a copy for me to giveaway to one lucky reader!

Synopsis: Batman wings into an exciting new era, teaming with a mighty honor roll of DC Comics Super Heroes in this action-packed series. Through the show’s final 13 Animated Adventures in this 2-Disc Collection, the Dark Knight allies with Aquaman, Plastic Man, Blue Beetle, Red Tornado, Green Arrow, Wildcat, Deadman, Bronze Tiger and Atom to take on an array of evildoers ranging from mad scientists to intergalactic crooks, from power-mad dictators to out-of-control teenagers. He even travels to a parallel world, becoming the villainous Owlman! In this cool, cutting-edge and often funny series bringing back old-school comic-book styling and dry wit to crimefighting, Batman faces any peril – including other heroes stealing the show – in his relentless pursuit of justice.

My review:
There are two types of Batman programs/movies - the campy, kid friendly ones and the "Dark Knight" adult versions that delve into your psyche. This series is firmly in the first camp - campy, outlandish and entirely fun for a marathon on a rainy day when you want to stay in your pajamas.

The series brings in heroes and villains from all over the DC world that you might not normally see in a Batman series. My husband, the comic book guy, liked the addition of some of DC's lesser known heroes and villains. Plastic Man, Green Arrow and the others are fun and truly add to the campy nature of the show. Wayne's favorite episode featured Batman teaming up with Sherlock Holmes and a demon! The violence is minimal and done in a very comedic way.

If you are looking to find the 'dark knight' or anything truly cerebral in these videos, you need to look elsewhere, but if you're looking for a bit of fun, to introduce Batman to the kids, than this is a DVD for your collection.
