About The Autism Book:

With clarity and compassion, Dr. Robert Sears guides the reader through the maze of autism, explaining what precautions parents can take to decrease their baby's risk, how to detect autism at the earliest possible age, and how to proceed once a diagnosis has been made. The book provides parents with a simple and clear understanding of the biomedical treatment approach that Dr. Sears has used successfully with many of his young patients. It lays out a plan for developmental, behavioral, and learning therapies; shows parents how to begin treatments without a doctor's help; presents information on vaccines and their safe use; and includes an extensive resources section. THE AUTISM BOOK provides all the information and reassurance parents need.

My take:

This book is a fabulous resource, because it breaks things down into easy to follow language and gives you the need to know information about everything from diagnosis to treatment options and more! I read this book cover to cover when I first got it and would totally recommend it for other families who are learning about Autism. It will stay a go-to resource on my shelf!

I am the mother to a 5 year old boy who was diagnosed with Autism in February of 2010. I think this book would be a great resouces for my husband and I. We are still learning about Autism and have many questions. I would love to have a copy of this book.

My son hasn't been diagnosed with Autism but I have been told by his therapist that he has PDD-NOS.

I'd love to win this book for my sister. My niece is on the Autism spectrum and my sister has a hard time knowing just how to deal with her sometimes. She's also now having to deal with a public school, as she started last fall.
