I am always pleased to discover new authors and it's even more fun when they discover me! I had a lovely email from Dale Mayer asking if I would check out one of her eBooks and this one caught my eye - Tuesday's Child (Psychic Visions, Book 1), a romantic suspense novel with a little dash of paranormal! (It's also available in paperback)
Shunned and ridiculed all her life for something she can’t control, Samantha Blair hides her psychic abilities and lives on the fringes of society. Against her will, however, she’s tapped into a killer—or rather, his victims. Each woman’s murder, blow-by-blow, ravages her mind until their death releases her back to her body. Sam knows she must go to the authorities, but will the rugged, no-nonsense detective in charge of tracking down the killer believe her?
Detective Brandt Sutherland only trusts hard evidence, yet Sam’s visions offer clues he needs to catch a killer. The more he learns about her incredible abilities, however, the clearer it becomes that Sam’s visions have put her in the killer’s line of fire. Now Brandt must save her from something he cannot see or understand…and risk losing his heart in the process.
As danger and desire collide, passion raises the stakes in a game Sam and Brandt don’t dare lose.
My review:I am not normally drawn to paranormal romance but for some reason Tuesday's Child intrigued me... maybe it's partly because the author is Canadian (which I didn't know when I agreed to review it) or that there's more to the story then just Samantha's psychic abilities but I couldn't put my kindle down! I love the interplay between Samantha and the skeptics on the police force. I love the internal war that Brandt wages, knowing that Sam is innocent but still trying to follow the letter of the law. I love that the book seems to move forward despite the paranormal element as much as because of it.
Tuesday's Child is an extremely well-woven tale with enough suspense, romance and fun to keep you coming back for more. I am totally looking forward to the next book in the series (and I hope Dale will contact me to review it for her)
