I did an informal poll on the Acting Balanced Facebook Page a few days ago and more than half of the people who answered the poll were not finished with their holiday shopping yet... One of the reasons that I am not finished with my shopping yet is that there are a couple of hard to buy for people on my yet to find the right gift list...
And you know what? They're the people that are always there - my mother-in-law and father-in-law - and every year I fall back on old reliable standby items that are necessities rather than fun holiday gifts for them... but I really am trying this year to get past the practical and find a 'wow' gift!
One of the ways I'm doing that is by searching the web and looking at people's holiday gift guides and while I was searching I ran across a website that had some good gift ideas. One of the things I like is that they even have a list of homemade gift suggestions! While I didn't find what I needed for them, I did find some ideas for other hard to buy for people on my list. Another way to solve the problem is to put gift certificates into holiday cards, but my mother-in-law doesn't even like to shop for herself... so that doesn't work in my case.
I'm still searching for the perfect gift for my in-laws, and I know it'll jump out at me soon (or at least I hope it will) but until then, if you have suggestions for something fun for them, please suggest it in the comments section.
