It's that time of the week again... when I invite a fellow blogger to have a seat in the hotseat and tell us a little bit more about themselves... this week I'm pleased to have my friend Kecia from Southern Girl Ramblings here to tell us a little more about her blog and herself:
1. Tell us a little bit about your blog:
Southern Girl Ramblings was started in February 2009 when I wanted a fresh start for my blogging. I had blogged on free sites and another domain before then, but I wanted to get more serious about blogging. My blog's focus is mainly parenting, though I also like to blog about being a WAHM, getting healthy and saving money. You will also find lots of product reviews and giveaways offered on my blog as well!
I have been blogging since 2005, though it was mostly me babbling about my personal life until late 2011. I love that I can have a spot on the web of my very own, to ramble about the things that interest me. I also enjoy making new friends through my blog. I have some great online buddies that I wouldn't have met if it weren't for blogging!
3. Who is the person or group behind the blog?
Southern Girl Ramblings is owned and maintained by me, Kecia. I am a 20-something year old WAHM, born and raised in Georgia. I am a freelance writer and blogger, and have been since March 2008. I have been married for 5 years to James and we have an adorable 19 month old son named Sawyer.
4. What hobbies/interests do you have?
When I'm not blogging, I like to read on my Kindle, go bowling, watch movies, or spend time with my family and friends.
5. If you could invite 4 people (real or fictional, living or dead) to a dinner party, who would you invite and what would you serve?
I'd invite Nicholas Sparks, my favorite author; Steve Jobs, to learn more about being a successful business person; Katherine Heigl, because she is an excellent actress and I'd love to be around her infectious personality; and my Papa, who passed away in 2006. I'd probably bake cupcakes for them, since I'm not much of a cook! :)
6. I can’t live without…
My family. Honestly, they are my rock. My husband is my best friend and my son gives my life more meaning than I ever thought a child could!
7. Something people would be surprised to know about me is…
I'm no longer that much of a social butterfly. Though I love to blab on the internet thanks to my blog, Twitter, Facebook various message boards, etc etc, I don't really care to go out often. I used to like to go out, and still do very now and then, but a nice, quiet evening is home is usually perfect for me!
