She Said/He Said

Each Saturday both Wayne and I post the following week's question and our own answers (with mine being the correct one of course) on both of our blogs - we'll also open up a linky so that you can add your own posts! If you and your spouse both blog you can put up your answers on each blog, or if you are the only prolific writer in your family you can ask your SO their opinion and write their answer down for them (word for word of course).  You are also welcome to hook up a He Said/He Said or a She Said/She Said - whatever works for you!

The questions to discuss this week are:

Do you and your spouse agree politically? Do you talk politics at home?

I am a very much a social democrat - I believe that the health and welfare of everyone should come before profit, luxury and even some infrastructure... at the same time I am not a huge fan of overly large bureaucracy and I hate to see multiple levels of government fighting amongst themselves to the detriment of society...  Wayne has somewhat similar views in that he believes in universal healthcare, education and social services funding as key government responsibilities... but he is definitely a fiscal conservative... believing that every penny should be pinched...

One thing I have to say about Wayne's politics is that while he has a firm grasp on what he believes, he often has trouble finding a candidate to back because of it... and he's a big believer that the "none of the above" option should be available on every ballot...

I live by the credo that my grandfather taught me ... you can't b**** if you don't vote - I am always happy to contribute my vote in every election I am eligible for - unfortunately right now I am not eligible to vote in the US - we're permanent residents but not citizens...

One of the strangest phenomenon that I've encountered here in the US is that people identify themselves as belonging to a political party but can't tell me what that means... as if belonging to the group means more than the message...

Wayne is definitely the more politically interested of us, and the more creative in expressing how he would fix things if he were ever to be involved in politics or become the omnipotent ruler of the world...

I can actually see Wayne enjoying a role in government at some point, but can honestly say that the political arena holds no great draw for me.  We do talk about politics, but I'm more less likely to initiate the discussion than Wayne is... but it does make for some spirited conversation...

Next week's questions: How does your partner signal to you that they are in the mood for some lovin'?

If you want to answer the question for yourself or have both you and your spouse participate, just write your post and link up below... or share a comment about the topic ...
