Wayne and I have written around this topic before... but our trip home this summer brings home just how important our couples time is...
We come home to Toronto every summer and as the family has grown it's meant that we don't all fit into either parent's home easily... both families have smaller sized homes and five of us descending on either place would be super tight... so starting last year, we split up... Wayne, Robyn and Liam stay at my in-laws and Erik and I stay at my parents house... so our vacation is really all about the kids, so I know just how important couples time is...
Being able to pick Wayne up from the airport and 'take the long way home' gave us a chance to talk and catch up... we walked around one of my favorite haunts - Niagara on the Lake, took the back roads home and had a great supper at one of our old haunts - a Chinese food restaurant that we Toronto locals know as the "Goof" and we got a chance to drive through the Toronto Beaches area ... and reminisce.
Being together but apart means that any time we have together is more precious and I love spending quality couples time with my wonderful hubby!
