Monday Listicles - 10 Things About My Car

This week's topic for Monday Listicles is 10 things about my car...

Let me give you a little background... my very first car was a mini-van... yep, I inherited it from my mom who was ready to downsize her vehicle back to a sedan and the price "free" was right!

Fast forward several cars and several years later and we were shopping for a new car for our family of four - I wanted a mini-van but Wayne was dead set against it... we were a one car family so I wanted to make him comfortable and we agreed on a Kia Rondo crossover... great with two kids, but with three... well, Robyn had to climb into the third row seat from the trunk... and when we went somewhere as a family we couldn't take the stroller too... so I have finally come full circle and we have a family mini-van:

10.  We picked this particular van because it has 2nd row captains chairs and third row car seat anchors... you'd be surprised how few models accommodate car seats in the third row..

9. It is great to drive and incredibly comfortable on long car trips... despite what Wayne might say to the contrary...

8. It's used... it felt good to be able to pay cash for it so we wouldn't have a car payment!

7. It's one of two colors of car I said I would never own... the other being black... but it was the right car at the right price... so white it is...

6. It fits everyone in comfortably and we even had a bit of room to spare when we took our trip home to Canada for six weeks this summer...

5. It has enough leg room for Robyn, even in the third row... yep, this tall drink of water actually fits:

4. It does not go super sonic... but this jet does:

3. I am now out of pictures of my van... actually I was out of pictures two numbers ago... did you like my stretch?

2. In a perfect world, my mini-van would be brand spanking new, blue and have heated leather seats and all the latest bells and whistles, but I'm still happy with it...

1. I am a proud mini-van driver and my next car will still be a mini-van... I am never going back!

I love my mini van too! Seriously, they have the best space for a family.
It looks like a lovely minivan and I too, like the seats. I'm actually kinda looking forward to my first minivan, but I assume that will come later with more kids (I only have a 10 month old now). :)

Ha! I just came from Wayne's blog and loved reading about your dreaded minivan! Could you please tell Wayne that I was not able to comment on his blog. I can't do blogger blogs without the name/url choice without setting up a bunch of new accts I don't need. So, please let him know that I stopped by and that his post made me laugh!

Something went amiss with my commenting system as I use the same as Heather's...thanks for the nice comment, though I seemed to have offended the Mini-van brigade.

Minivan owner unite!
I love my van too- and for the record, the Kia Sedona has capt seats too :)
I loved reading your post and wayne's, ha, he thinks he's too cool for a minivan but who's sitting in the passenger seat in number 9, I ask!?!

Oh my goodness, so glad I made the connection that you are Wayne's wife. When I started reading, I thought. "I can't believe another post is mentioning a KIA Rondo. Weird."

Anyway, I will always choose a minivan, even when I don't particularly need one for the kids. I like the freedom to cart stuff (junk) around when I need to, and I love the ease of packing for road trips. Groceries stay cool inside of the car instead of roasting in the trunk. And sliding doors are the best invention ever - for parking garages, for city street parking, for kids, for the elderly. Minivans rule! Ellen

I like your blog posts because they are interesting! I have never owned a mini van, but this van is nice and roomy! I could taking a trip in this van. You could put down a air mattress in the back and rest during stops. I would love to own one of these vans!
We have yet to own a mini-van...I've never driven one, but I hear once you get one you will have one forever!

You make good points about the mini-van. I know that my mom loves hers, but I just couldn't do it. How sweet for no car payments though!

My parents always had white cars. Sure it had something about being in Florida and so hot. You have my friends exact car. She bought it used...and actually she just sold it to another family. It keeps on humming along.
I like that minivans put you up high. But I didn't miss it that much when we sold it for my 1987 Mercedes! I love that car! Plus, with the lovelies all grown up, there was no need for the minivan anymore. I don't miss finding Birdie's soccer socks that had been left in there overnight after a game or practice either. :)
I'm jealous. I always said I'd never drive a mini van, but they look awfully spacious!
I want a minivan! But not a white one :) I mean, I'd take a white one if I got a great deal, I'm sure. My car has that optional third row seat - it's great to have, but not always convenient. And it's getting hard for my girls to climb back there as they get bigger.

No car payments are the best! And I can't say I am going over to the mini-van side anytime soon
