It's all my family's fault... my mother (retired not tired found Coffee Chat last week and since she doesn't know how to link up a blog post rather than her whole blog, she asks my husband, Wayne from Touristic or myself to add her to linkies... so Wayne added Mom to the coffee chat and then went ahead and wrote a post about how he thinks I see him and well... if you read his post (here) you already know that he is a really smart guy who can't find his way out of a walk in closet, even with a map...
so I'm now writing my own perspective on this week's coffee chat topic:
Men.....and the Women Who Blog About Them
I actually blog regularly about three of the men in my life - my darling hubby, and both of my boys, Liam and Erik... I also occasionally blog about my father, grandfathers and even my brother on occasion... but for today, we'll focus on Wayne, whose moniker on my blog from the beginning was 'Heather's Hubby'
Wayne has always been a supportive bloggy husband... from the inception of Acting Balanced when it was just a place to rant about living with two kids and learning the ropes about being an Autism parent... through the first product review, the first giveaway and then the avalanche of work that came my way last Christmas season...
Almost from the start, Wayne has guest posted on my blog... here's his first post and now he's become a reviewing partner on the blog, and somewhere along the way he decided he needed his own place to rant and write... so now we are officially a blogging couple...
Enough history, you really want the dirt, right?
What I think Wayne thinks about me and my blog...
1. I have too much crap in the house... and it keeps coming... the problem is that some of it is really useful and he likes the benefits of having a ton of preschool DVD's for road trips, the fact that my book buying budget has been cut down considerably, and he really likes the fact that I get EdenFantasys GC for working with them... (although I do need to purge more and share the wealth with friends after I've finished some of the reviews)
2. I share too much... this is probably true, but I try to be mindful of what I write about him, the kids and even about myself. I don't hide our identities or change our names. I do post pictures of all of us and I don't hide that we live in Charleston, SC. This blog originally started as a way to communicate to family and friends who live 1000 miles away and I hope I've retained some of that despite all of the tentacles this blog has grown over the years...
3. I use "..." too much... true as well. It's one of those annoying habits I've gotten into, and I think it's because I have more to say but I never quite get it all out. A period or an exclamation mark is so final... don't you think?
4. I get angry with Wayne because he keeps too much too close to the vest. I don't actually get angry, I get frustrated when he's got things going on that I know are bugging him, but he doesn't want to share... I try to respect when he needs space, but when he goes to the Doctor, I want to know - ya know?
5. My hubby is quirky - it's one of the reasons I love him. He can remember Joe Carter's batting average from the last year the Jays won the World Series, but he can't remember our children's birthdays or how old any of them are... I've just learned to live with it and prompt him at appropriate places ;-)
All in all, Wayne is an incredibly supportive hubby and I think the fact that we have entirely different strengths makes us a stronger couple... and I look forward to blogging with him (and all of the other things) for years to come.
