My Answers

1. What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you on your birthday?

My hubby always does nice things on my birthday - yesterday he and Liam went out early to get me breakfast, a bouquet of flowers and my favorite candy- twizzlers :)

2. What is the funniest thing that ever happen to you while you were on a 'date'?

I guess that would have to be my first 'date' with Wayne... he invited me to his place to watch the Opening of the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and he made me dinner - a frozen lasagna with two forks... somehow it started out as friends and ended up as a date...

3. What is your favorite backhanded compliment?

It's probably when I use sarcasm on the teenager when she always remembers to thank her dad or me for doing nice things...

4. Have you ever had someone guest blog for you? If so, how was the experience?

I have had a number of guest bloggers - authors, friends, experts ... the experience so far has been really positive for both me and my readers!

My 5th question this week is ...

If you could pick one place to go on a culinary tour, where would you go?

I guess I'll say Italy, since I like spaghetti and lasagna. LOL
I would love to go to Germany. I love schnitzel and black forest cake.
Oh, that's a good question....I think I would have to go with Ireland. That is one type of food I have the least experience with.

Fun Q & A - I'd probably pick India for my foodie tour
Oh I would definitely have to return to Scotland. I had such a wonderful experience with food while there. Though wouldn't mind going to Greece either and try some of their dishes. Picking just one is so tough! I see a lot of the France suggestions in the comments and wouldn't mind that either. lol

I would have to say that I would love to take a Culinary tour in Tuscany!
If I were able to go on a culinary tour, I'd probably choose the British Isles. There are so many great choices of types of food there, between Irish, Scottish, Welsh and English. It would be nice to see the subtle differences in some dishes.

india!!!!!!!!!!!! yum
When I was in Italy it was the summer I turned 13; can we say finicky teenager much? I enjoyed the pastries, fruit and wine, especially the sparkling wine that is the official wine of my Dad's country, but what I did not have, wouldn't even try was any sauce with meat in it, any meat at all really, including no fish whatsoever. I essentially survived for four weeks on pastries, gelato, chocolate, salad, cheese and tomatoes. I usually got sliced tomatoes with vinaigrette for my main course in restaurants. I loved the green salads and tomatoes, but they started getting old by the time we got home. By then I just wanted a hot dog.

As an adult, I'd love to go back and enjoy the tomatoes as a side dish with pasta in a bolognaise sauce or the wonderful fresh seafood.
