Review and Giveaway: MyMemories Suite Software

I would firstly like to introduce you to today's guest reviewer - Annie - who is a wonderful friend of mine who is way more crafty than I am, so when the opportunity to review MyMemories Suite came up, she was the first person I thought of... Annie is the never-stay-at-home mom of J, a wonderfully active toddler and a fellow transplant to the Charleston area...  I was so pleased that she was able to review the MyMemories Suite and I hope she'll come back and guest review or share some of her crafting ideas with us in the future!

Annie's Review:

We recently had our son's 18 month pictures taken, so I thought this would be a perfect time to try out My Memories Suite! I had some computer issues with our laptop (our version of Vista doesn't like QuickTime), so I had to wait for my dear hubby to help me access it on his old laptop. Once I was up and running, I had a great time making my digital scrapbook! I started out with a pre-made template. There are some templates pre-loaded into the software, with lots of options to purchase more online. The pre-loaded templates were very easy to use, but the selection was slim for my taste. I do like that you can choose the size, shape, etc of your pages, and the layout (calendar, scrapbook, slide show, etc). Here are some screen shots of pages from my book.

Next, I tried to tackle creating my own book from scratch. There are so many options to add shapes, create word art, add backgrounds, etc. This would be perfect for a person who had a good deal of time to devote to scrapbooking, and who has more artistic ability than I do! Seeing as how I was also entertaining said 18 month old, this feature was too involved for me at the time. I had fun playing with one page, but wasn't able to complete much, as it requires more attention and time. Perfect for the scrapbooking queen, but tough with an active toddler.

I'm jealous now that I didn't keep this review for myself... because Annie was able to come up with some amazing things in a short time, even with J's help!  I'm hoping that she'll let me play around with her laptop some time!
