I just make sure all the electronics are at full power. I now have two tablets so when I kill one off from reading I'll have a back up now :P

When we think there is going to be a power outage, we stock up on batteries and candles. We also make sure all the propane takes are full. We have a gas grill we can cook on and a propane heater if we need it. Back when we were on well water, we made sure we got some 5 gallon buckets of water put back for cooking and cleaning. We also make sure we have plenty of foods that do not need refrigerated or cooked (i.e. tuna, potted meat, Vienna sausages, crackers, peanut butter, etc.)

We are not as prepared as we thought. We do have a gas stove so we know we will be able to eat and make tea and coffee. I don't like using candles however we do use flashlights which will need some new batteries.
In So. AZ power outages are rare unless it's monsoon season. I've purchased portable chargers for our cells/tablets, the pantry is usually stocked with snacky stuff, but if we were out of power to DAYS...I would be pretty screwed.
To be truthful we are SO not prepared at all! I can say that the stair climber has a perpetually charged battery so I could get downstairs and we have car phone chargers for both phones as well as a cooler that plugs into the car. But I think if there was a major power outage we'd be suffering and taking notes for next time!
