Here are the Questions:

1. It's National Hobby Month - will you be starting a new hobby or just keeping up with current ones?  What are your hobbies?

2. January 6th is Bean Day - what is your favorite bean?  Bean recipes to share?

3. Wayne got a question from a student yesterday... and we'd love your input - "I just got good news - I got a promotion into management - the problem now is that that I've moved to a salary position after working hourly.  I used to get paid for overtime so now I make less money - what should I do?"

4. Have you ever bought a gift that you regretted giving later?

Our Responses

1. It's National Hobby Month - will you be starting a new hobby or just keeping up with current ones?  What are your hobbies?

W - I don't have very many hobbies between kids and work.  I do have season tickets to the C of C basketball games and I try to take a few photos everyo week.

H - I love to read, bake and walk - when I get time....  no new hobbies on the horizon right now.

2. January 6th is Bean Day - what is your favorite bean?  Bean recipes to share?

H - I like most types of beans - yum!  Here's one favorite recipe: White Bean and Tuna Salad

W - Since moving to SC I discovered that I like Red Beans and Rice and I also like Black Beans.

3. Wayne got a question from a student yesterday... and we'd love your input - "I just got good news - I got a promotion into management - the problem now is that that I've moved to a salary position after working hourly.  I used to get paid for overtime so now I make less money - what should I do?"

W - I'm interested to see everyone's answers...

H - Sometimes you have to take a pay cut to get ahead... if management is where you want to be, then you have to accept that it's a promotion that puts you back on the bottom rung of a new ladder.

4. Have you ever bought a gift that you regretted giving later?

W & H - Wayne found a coffee table book full of cars from Model A to 2010... Liam loves spending hours reading it but he needs someone to sit with him while he does... we've read it cover to cover dozens of times since Christmas... 

• H - It's a little easier for Wayne - he actually cares about cars.. me not so much.. I know way more about companies like Bugatti, Alfa and Daimler than I ever wanted to know...
